Kieran Rhys is here!

Kieran decided that he wanted to make a dramatic entrance, so we had a c-section on Wednesday, August 2nd and he took his first peek at the outside world at 11:29 a.m. He was 8 pounds, 4 ounces (!) and 20.5 inches long. He surprised us all by having blond hair - his Viking side, maybe?
All is well in the universe :)

Congrats Nilsson family of 4!! Do you pronounce the middle name like the minute grain?

Rhys is pronounced 'reese', like the Pieces. ;)

Im confused (yes it happens), since when does a 'y' sound like 'ee'? I tried to think of a situation in the english language and I could not find one. If you combine 'a' with 'y' you get 'eh'. On its own, 'y' sounds like 'i'. Combined with 'e' and you get 'ee', but on its own, you dont get 'ee'! Help me out here little one...

Congratulations Andrea and Brett!!! A boy, how rice. And another Leo to help me lead the world.

typo, what typo.

Well, how about the y in pretty, kitty, jelly, belly, Kenny, only, etc. (Weird little strain of thought there...)

I bet you're wishing it was 'rice' so that you could make all kinds of great rhymes with that one! Ha- stumped the master, did I?

(By the by - Rhys spelled this way means river or stream, much nicer than bits of chocolate.)

Touche. yes, the grain would have produced many more one liners I had brewing!

Congrats! There can never be too many Kierans out there! I think Rhys is a Welsh name, is it not? You should see how those guys spell and say shit over there...the pronunciation of this one is nuthin'!

You know your name origins, my friend. If we were really going to be authentic (and make the kid's life hell) we would have spelled it Ciaran as the Irish do.
Ah, if I can live with Lorraine Paine, he can live with 'rice'. I turned out just fine - twitch, twitch...
